God has really blessed us the
last few years. We married in December 1977. We were both working in church
ministry. Brenda worked in the children's ministry and Gordon worked in the
sound ministry, both singing in the choir. Gordon sings bass and Brenda sings
soprano. Brenda graduated from ministry school in 1977 with a Bachelor's
Degree in ministry and Gordon graduated in 1978 receiving an Associate's
degree in ministry. In 1985, we had our first miracle named Garron and our
second son, also a miracle, named Gaylon in 1988. In 1989 Gordon lost his leg
in an 18 wheel truck accident. We praise God he only lost a leg. Within a few
months he was walking again with an artifical leg and later started working
for that prosthetic company as a technician. In the next several years he
found favor on his job and continued to receive promotions and now he is a
licensed Prosthetist in the state of Texas at Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics.
Brenda worked as a wallpaper-hanger for 12 years, in church private schools
for 13 years, and currently a Mastectomy Fitter also at Hanger Prosthetics and
Orthotics.
The Lord directed us to Alvarado
New Life Ministries in Nov. 1996 where we now serve with Pastor's Marshall and
Darlene Hall. Gordon serves as Elder, Trustee and sound man and Brenda serves
as the Praise and Worship leader. In 1997 we became associated with RMFI,
Revival Ministers Fellowship Int'l, where we both later received our
ministrial license. Brenda recorded her first CD in 2001, “Don't Give Up” on
the brink of a miracle. In March 2006 the Lord opened a door of opportunity
and has directed us to full time ministry. In May 2006 we signed a contract
and Brenda will go on tour starting Feb. 2007. We are earnestly praying God's
direction. Leaving our comfort zone has been harder for Brenda than Gordon.
Our travels will involve 38,000 miles next year and our ability to work full
time at Hanger will change. Our mind set must change. Our focus must be on
laying up our treasures in Heaven, but most of us like the security WE set up
for ourselves in this life.
